My Personal Letter To You…
My name’s Alana and I promised 8 orphaned, disabled children in Africa (when I was last out there) that they would have a home by Christmas (you can see the PLANS FOR THE HOME & THE COSTS ETC in detail) and I founded My Million To One to raise the money to do it. This campaign was due to finish on 22nd November 2014 but, well, it’s been a topsy turvy ride to say the least and the NEW deadline – very symbolically – is now Christmas day.
Before that, there’s a massive, extravagant Christmas push, kicking off with ‘Delivering A Dream Day’ on 29th November 2014 when the Pop Up House Tour starts.
MMTO has struggled to build momentum over the last 12 months. I’m sure I’ve done 1000 things wrong along the way but most especially I underestimated how long it would take people to trust and believe in a completely new fundraising model: The MMTO ‘Dream Swap.’
I’m not done yet though and I intend to keep my promise to the children to give them a home by Christmas. They’ve never known what a home is like and they’ve never had the luxury of feeling safe, secure and nurtured. My Million To One might have had a slow start (with only a few thousand £ raised so far, out of £1,000,000) but that’s all going to change.
Thanks for reading, Alana
